공부란 무엇인가? 공부란 책상 앞에 앉아서 텍스트를 읽고 밑줄을 그어 암기하는 것이 아닙니다.  

책상 위에 올라서서 더 멀리,더 넓게 생각하는 것이 진정한 공부 입니다. 책상은 그것을 위한 디딤돌일 뿐입니다. 

모든 시대의 책상은 당대 사회의 지배 이데올로기를 주입하는 장치입니다. 책상 위에 올라서는 것은 '독립'입니다. 

새로운 시작입니다. 변화와 저항입니다. 그리고 "저항이야말로 창조이며, 창조야말로 저항입니다."

Scholarship is not sitting at the table, reading texts and underlining points to memorize. 

It is standing on it, trying to look beyond the texts and think more widely. The table is only a platform for the scholarship.

The table is a device for injecting the currently prevailing ideology into your mind. 

"Independence of mind" is achieved by stepping on it. 

Then you can start anew. Change and resistance will become possible.

"나는 끊임없이 사물을 다른 각도에서 봐야 한다는 걸 잊지 않으려고 책상 위에 서 있는거다."

올해 수능을 치르고 교문을 나서는 학생들을 응원합니다. 비록 천 번의 헛된 시도를 하게

되더라도 천 한 번의 용기로 세상과 맞서기를 기원합니다.
